About the Board

The Arizona State Board of Dental Examiners is comprised of eleven members who are appointed by the Governor:  six dentists, two dental hygienists and three public members.

Individuals are appointed to four year terms and may serve two consecutive terms.  Interested parties may apply for appointment at www.azgovernor.gov/bc As a “90/10” agency, the Dental Board is funded through the collection of licensing fees.  90% of those revenues are deposited to the Dental Board Fund for appropriation by the Legislature toward fulfillment of the Board’s statutory mandates.  The remaining 10% of the funds collected are deposited into the State’s General Fund for use as determined by the Legislature
